Julian Stetter is a DJ and producer based in Cologne, Germany. Mining the city’s rich underground scene, Julian has played at Cologne’s leading venues – including Gewölbe, Stadtgarten and the infamous JackWho, where going back-to-back with Midland remains one of his dearest memories. While working the decks at night, Julian has also been busy in the studio. His first releases were on favourite labels like PNN, Mireia and Ancient Future Now before he was included on the 17th and the 19th iterations of ‘TOTAL’, the famous compilation by Cologne-based mammoth Kompakt. Beats In Space super guru Tim Sweeney’s called Stetter’s Track “Chorus” one of his highlights of the year and at the latest since frequently releasing on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant, he was brought to international attention, followed by further cooperations with labels like Permanent Vacation and Kompakt. In 2017, Julian was a resident at the exceptional Daytime Discothèque – set in the rooftop bar of Cologne’s tallest skyscraper – where he had the pleasure of DJing alongside the likes of Mall Grab, Baba Stiltz and RSS Disco. Touring all over Mexico in early 2020, being a resident DJ in Madrid (Casa Banchel) and Antwerp (C’Sons), other highlights have included performing at SXSW (Austin), Dockville (Hamburg), c/o Pop (Cologne) and Feel Festival (Brandenburg). Thetall German (202cm, if you believe it) is currently enjoying positive feedback from some of the industry’s greatest producers: Man Power defined his sound as ‘cinematic and noble’; Jackmaster having no words but ‘wow’; while Pampa’s Ada named him ‘one of the great new talents from Cologne’. Her words in your ear.
